Failures of peace is better than victories of war



Aim for peace not war

Generosity not greed

Empathy not hate

Creativity not destruction

Everybody not just us

Good morning all the respected judges, esteemed teachers, fellow participants and every other entity present here. Plato once said, “Any peace is better than any war” and I meant. Let us ask basic question. Why do we commit war if peace is better? Why, when we know it will have a negative impact do we aim to fight a war? Now let’s go a few centuries back and see, and u will notice that those wars being fought to gain kingdom. Ok, now come back. Why did the World Wars happen? Because someone, somewhere wanted to gain power and money. After the first world war, the countries did sought to form a league of Nations but then u know teamwork did not seem to happen there. But the second league was worth forming, after the second world war, United Nations came up to ensure justice and smooth maintenance of all the factors that caused the World War at the first place.

When the love of power overwhelms the power of love, the world will know the value of peace. You know a war not only creates an imbalance in the world but has a lots and lots of drawbacks.

Taking a few of them.

1. The effects of war are far reaching

You may have heard it from people or even seen the sad conditions of people of Afghanistan, Syria and Somalia in news. The citizens of these countries become refugees and move to Europe. Why? Because they cannot survive in their own country. In 2014, UN estimated that about 19.5 million people most of which are small children, migrate, just to make sure that they live a few more days of their lives. The effects of war are devastating and the amount of destruction it does is unlimited. We fighting, destroy our own planet earth, this land which we have borrowed from our own future generations.

2. Military answers to political problems alone don’t work



And it never will. Assuming that we will fight, gain victory and our problem will be solved is completely fooling ourselves. War won’t ever being us the solution but only loss, loss of everything. Noting the pros and cons and fairly discussing about the reason of the conflict may pop up a solution. The High Level Independent Panel recommend UN's peace operations saying that, “ Lasting peace is not achieved nor sustained by technical engagements but only my political solutions… political solutions must guide all UN peace operations” or else sons won’t  bury their fathers, instead, father’s will bury their sons. The Jews and Hiroshima and Nagasaki all suffered just because of a refusion to sign the Peace Pact. What if something like this was undone and Hiroshima was still a happy place to live in?



3. Conflicts shatters lives and stunts development



For us Conflicts, economic crisis, politics, bombs, deaths, fighter planes and soldiers, they all form a picture of war for a moment, which we do not wish to see in real life. Do u what to create a nation with no education, more pollution and destructed infrastructure for your own future generations? For most of you, no, you don’t. By today, more than 1.5 billion people across different countries of the world, are affected by violent conflicts. Just imagine if it continues.

Think it for yourself. Do you feel good at the fact that your family and friends will one day, be dead in a war? Nobody does…



You know, peace I’d not eh absence of conflict but it is the ability to handle conflicts by peaceful means. All we need to do is to build peace, resolve the conflicts and prevent the conflicts. All I am saying is to give peace a chance and you will see the miracles. Seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved, it is the long reality in the world, all else is folly. It is the only thing that we are interested in here. At the end of the day, our only goal is live happily, but I’m extremely sorry, fighting a war to make peace, was, is and will never ever be the solution.
